HIGHLANDS & AMAZON TOUR

The combination of snow capped mountains with a patchwork of indigenous farm fields it is something you probably only have seen it on books…..We want you to experience it firsthand and combine this experience with interacting with the indigenous in one of the most famous handicraft town in South America. We will be staying at a cozy lodge at the lake shore in the edge of an extinct volcano. The tranquility and beauty of this place will set the mood for enjoying a hot coffee in front of the chimney in a cold afternoon. We will travel to the Amazon and stay at a lovely lodge (accessible) where we can relax at its beautiful kichwa style huts. From here we will visit indigenous villages where we will interact with local indigenous groups while we learn about their costumes, food, clothing, beliefs and process of adaptation to the 21st century. We will raft down an Amazon river surrounded by vegetation and if lucky we can see birds and monkeys. We will also visit an animal rescue center where we can observe animals that have been taken from illegal trades. We will finish our tour in Quito where we will visit the Colonial Downtown (declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO) and admire the churches from the colonial times (2 accessible).
